A year after the start of its experimentation, the vaccine against avian flu intended for ducks and manufactured in Libournais Ceva Santé presents “necessary guarantees” according to the Ministry of Agriculture. On his website, the latter announced that the results obtained during the experiment were “favorable and provide sufficient guarantees to launch a vaccination campaign”. This will be officially launched in the fall of 2023.
This trial period for the vaccine intended for mule ducks took place in two phases: “A first phase in field conditions and a second phase in the confined animal facilities of the National Reference Laboratory of the National Health Security Agency of food, environment and work. »
For Ceva, the next step is to obtain a Temporary Authorization for Use and to be chosen by the government within the framework of the call for tenders launched by the ministry last April.
