The Baja California prosecutor, Ricardo Iván Carpio Sánchez, reported at a press conference on the progress in the investigation regarding the armed attack that occurred during the “Cachanillazo” on May 20 in Ensenada, which left 10 people dead and 10 injured. .

Accompanied by the Secretary of Citizen Security, Leopoldo Tizoc Aguilar, the prosecutor described the events as a “cunning aggression” and confirmed that those involved were members of two antagonistic criminal groups: the Sinaloa cartel and the Arellano Felix cartel (or Tijuana Cartel).
The aim of this heinous attack was Alonso Arambula Pinaidentified with the nicknames of “El Trébol”, “El Sonrics” and “El Loncho”who apparently carried out various illegal activities, such as drug trafficking, for the Sinaloa Cartel.
In fact, according to the information shared by the prosecutor, the nickname “Clover” was given to him by the stamp on the vehicle with which he participated in the rally, but said alias actually belonged to who was his boss within said criminal group.

Although up to now the persons responsible for perpetrating the massacre have not been identified, Carpio Sánchez shared that the main hypothesis of the authorities responds to the struggle between the so-called Pacific Cartel and the faction of the Arellano Félixwhich extends throughout the northwestern strip of the country, from Sinaloa to Tijuana.
“’Trébol’ is one of the pseudonyms that were also awarded to him every time it is established that one of the leaders he served bears precisely this nickname and that this person maintains activities among certain criminal groups of the Sinaloa Cartel and with certain antagonisms. and support that at any given time could have been established with members and leaders of the Tijuana Cartel,” the prosecutor explained.
In the Razer-type vehicle where the body of “Sonrics” was left, his sentimental partner, identified as Mariana Soto, and Jose Eduardo Orozco Gil, delegate of the community of San Antonio de las Minas.
When the prosecutor was questioned about the presence of the municipal official in the same car that “Trébol” was driving, Carpio Sánchez acknowledged that the institution will investigate the circumstances why Orozco Gil was in that place. Her body got riddled in the back seaton the pilot’s side.

Another of the findings shared by the Baja California prosecutor was that, apparently, the attackers they tracked down Alonso Arámbula for at least a couple of days and they were fully aware of his presence in Ensenada and at the sporting event, so it was a planned attack.
In the exchange of bullets that turned into a massacre, they were used 13 firearms, including two “goat horns” and four short weapons. A total of 253 casings were percussed.
Similarly, it was established that the black Infinity Qx60 truck in which the attackers arrived had a report of theft in the United States since April 19.
It was unofficially announced that another of those who died during the “Cachanillazo” would be a man identified as Iván P., aka “Scarface”who would allegedly be a member of the Arellano Félix family.
Regarding the injured people, prosecutor Carpio Sánchez explained that, at the time of sharing this data, three were reported in serious condition, for which reason they were kept under constant medical observation.
