The searches carried out by the German police in the region of the Arade dam, in Portugal, were finalized this Friday (26). The materials found at the site will now be sent for analysis.
The girl’s disappearance, which occurred in 2007, remains a great mystery. She was on a beach on the Portuguese coast with her parents when she was never seen again. The place where the searches were carried out is about 200 kilometers away from the coast.
The searches were resumed after photos were found of the region with the main suspect, the German Christian B, who is arrested for abusing children and raping a woman. He denies involvement.
The police have been investigating the case for 16 years and still do not know if Madeleine is missing, but alive, or was killed at the time.
