The Italian Football Federation announced on Friday that Juventus will face a new sporting trial over allegations of irregularities in the club’s payments to players as well as undue relations with players’ agents and other clubs.
This is the second sports trial facing Juventus, who is awaiting a verdict next Monday in a case related to the transfer of players, which may result in sports penalties, including deducting more points from his balance.
The authorities had deducted 15 points from Juventus’ balance last January in the case of player transfers, but the highest sports authority in Italy ordered the football authorities to reconsider the case.
Three matches before the end of the season, Juventus ranks second with 69 points, behind Napoli, who won the title. And if any points are deducted from his balance this season, the most successful Italian club will move away from the golden square qualifying for the Champions League.
As part of the new sports trial against Juventus, FIGC prosecutors allege that the club agreed to refund the majority of salary deductions related to COVID-19 without properly accounting for them in the records.
Juventus, who had previously denied any wrongdoing, declined to comment on Friday.
The local federation said today, Friday, that the allegations indicate that Juventus have unnecessary relations with Sampdoria, Atlanta, Sassuolo, Udinese, Bologna and Cagliari, indicating that the investigation is still ongoing with those clubs.
