Pep Guardiola, coach of Manchester City, the English Premier League champion, expressed his happiness by appearing in the penultimate episode of the football comic series (Ted Laso), which the Spanish coach is keen to follow.
Guardiola told a press conference on Friday: As a family, my little daughter Valentina and my wife enjoy watching the series very much. We are big fans of him, and when they offered me a cameo role in the series, I didn’t mind and got to meet the actors.
He said: We are very proud frankly, we are proud to show the world the real Manchester City.
On this week’s episode, fictional Richmond side defeated City and Laso, played by Jason Sudeikis, and Guardiola shook hands after the match.
During the handshake, the Spanish coach said: Don’t worry about winning or losing. You just have to help these kids be the best version of themselves on and off the field. Ultimately, this is what matters most.
Laso replied: I totally agree with you, coach.
The scene was filmed before one of City’s matches at the Etihad Stadium, and the crew returned to follow a match for the English team at home.
Guardiola added: They came in one of the last games we played here and we spoke again, which was nice.
