Empoli taught its guest, Juventus, a harsh lesson and beat it 4-1 on Monday evening in the 36th stage of the Italian Football League, at a time when Roma tied with its guest Salernitana 2/2.
And at the Carlo Castellani stadium, Empoli settled his victory over Juventus since the first half, which he finished ahead with two goals without a response.
Francesco Caputo led Empoli with a penalty kick in the 18th minute, then Sebastian Luberto added the second goal in the 21st minute.
Three minutes after the start of the second half, Francesco Caputo scored his second goal and the third for Empoli, and his colleague Roberto Piccoli finished the scoring in stoppage time, while Federico Chiesa ensured the only goal for Juventus in the 86th minute.
Empoli raised its score to 42 points in the fourteenth place, and Juventus’ balance stopped at 59 points in the seventh place.
Earlier on Monday, the Italian Federal Court of Appeal decided to deduct ten points from Juventus in the Italian Football League due to financial irregularities, to drop from second to seventh place.
Juventus became five points away from fourth place, which Milan advanced to, and qualified for the Champions League.
On April 20, the Supreme Court of the Italian Olympic Committee returned 15 points that had been deducted from the Juventus team in the current season in the Italian Football League due to financial irregularities related to transfers and lying to financial officials.
Last month, the court accepted Juventus’ appeal against the penalty and ordered a new trial to be held at the Italian Football Federation’s Sports Court.
And the Sports Court of the Italian Football Federation decided to punish Juventus last January, after investigations revealed that financial irregularities provided the club with 90 million euros ($ 98.64 million) between 2018 and 2020.
