Brighton decided to participate in the European Football League next season for the first time in its history, after snatching a 1-1 draw with its host Manchester City, on Wednesday, in a postponed match from the 32nd stage of the competition.
Brighton raised its score to 62 points in sixth place, qualifying for the group stage in the continental competition, 4 points ahead of Aston Villa, the seventh-placed team, who ascends its owner to the preliminary rounds of the European Conference League next season, before the two teams play their last match this season.
On the other hand, Manchester City’s balance, which earlier this season retained the title for the third time in a row, rose to 89 points in the lead, 8 points ahead of Arsenal, who are in second place.
Manchester City scored through Phil Foden in the 25th minute, before Paraguayan Julio Anchizo equalized for Brighton in the 38th minute.
