Adami appreciates young talents and wants to reveal them to film professionals. Short films are made for each edition of the Cannes Film Festival, which do not enter competition but which are shown to as many people as possible. To make these films, recognized personalities are recruited, ready to go behind the camera.
This is the case of Ahmed Sylla who is not at his first time in Cannes. For his short film, the actor and humorist chose three young talents. And the symbiosis was perfect between them. “You can’t be a good football coach if the players aren’t good on the pitch,” laughs Ahmed Sylla. I was lucky to come across players who wanted to score goals”.
“This experience made me love directing actors and directing. The actors made me want to go further. Mutually, we gave each other confidence, ”explains the actor, very proud to present his film at the Cannes Film Festival. But it remains far from glitter and parties, to stay focused on the magic of Cannes, the effervescence of cinema. “You don’t have to describe Cannes, you have to live it. The interviews, the sun, the friends… It’s all that that interests me, not the rest”, he concludes.
