Dutch world champion Max Verstappen won the third free practice of the Saudi Grand Prix in the second round of the Formula 1 World Championship.
The Red Bull driver achieved victory in all three free trials in Saudi Arabia, to announce himself strongly as a prominent candidate to win the official experience that will be held later on Saturday.
And on the Jeddah Corniche track, which is 6.174 km long, Verstappen, winner of the world championship title in the past two seasons, led the third free trial, recording the fastest lap in one minute and 28.485 seconds, ahead of his teammate Sergio Perez by 0.613 seconds.
Spain’s Fernando Alonso, former world champion and Aston Martin driver, finished third, 0.998 seconds off the lead.
Lance Stroll, the other Aston Martin driver, came in fourth place, followed by Lewis Hamilton, the Mercedes driver who won the world championship seven times before, in fifth place, a second behind the lead, followed by Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc in sixth place, but he will receive a ten-place penalty during the Saudi race. To change a component of the power unit after failing to finish the Bahrain race, in the opening round of the season.
