Al-Ahly Club demanded the approval of Major General Mahmoud Tawfiq, the Egyptian Minister of Interior, for the full-capacity public attendance of Cairo Stadium in the team’s match against Al-Hilal of Sudan in the sixth round of Group Two in the African Football Champions League, which is scheduled for Sunday, March 31 or April 1.
Al-Ahly said on its official website on Sunday that the Sudanese Al-Hilal match will determine the team that qualified for the quarter-finals, and that the team needs great public support in order to achieve victory and obtain the boarding pass.
In his speech, Al-Ahly expressed his appreciation for the great effort made by the security men, and the consequences and responsibilities they bear in such national stances, and their support for the sports institutions that represent the country in continental forums.
Al-Ahly ranks third in the group standings with seven points, three points behind Al-Hilal of Sudan, who finished in second place, while South African Sun Downs leads the group with 11 points, and Cameroonian cotton bottoms it without a balance of points.
