Abdul Razzaq Hamdallah scored three goals to lead Al-Ittihad to a 5-1 victory over Al-Fateh and to consolidate its lead in the Saudi Professional League, “Roshen”, on Saturday.
Hamdallah, the Moroccan striker, opened the scoring after seven minutes, and his compatriot Mourad Patna equalized for the opening four minutes before the break.
But Hamdallah made a penalty kick and scored it successfully in the 50th minute and concluded the goals in stoppage time. Ahmed Sharahili and Igor Kornado also scored for Al-Ittihad, who dreams of winning the league title for the first time since 2009.
Al-Ittihad scored 50 points from 21 matches, four points behind Al-Nasr, the second-placed club, who also faces Abha today.
Hamdallah also topped the scorers list with 15 goals, two goals ahead of Al-Nasr striker Anderson Talisca.
The balance of Al-Fateh froze at 32 points, in sixth place.
