Gary Lineker is scheduled to return to present live coverage of the Manchester City and Burnley match later on Saturday, in the quarter-finals of the Football Association Cup, after an absence from television due to disagreements over his commitment to neutrality.
And the British news agency (BA Media) stated that this return will be the first for the 62-year-old man, since he was removed from presenting the “Match of the Day” program.
Lineker was suspended last week for a tweet in which he compared the launch of the government’s refugee policy to what was happening in Germany in the 1930s.
Gary Lineker will present live coverage on the BBC, hosting former English football stars Alan Shearer and Micah Richards, while Mark Chapman will host Match of the Day on Saturday night.
Several of Lineker’s colleagues at the BBC had withdrawn in solidarity with him in the past week, with a summary of objectives presented shorter than usual and without comment or introduction.
