President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador (AMLO) was confused during his inaugural speech at the 86th Banking Convention to call president instead of governor to Mauricio Villapresident of Quintana Roo, which caused him to joke about an alleged disclosure towards the 2024 elections.
“Friends friends. Mauricio Vila, chair…governor, (….) one more disclosure”, were the words that caused laughter among those present, even from the president himself.
After the error that caused the secrecy of the ceremony to be broken, the president continued with his dissertation where celebrated the strength that the Mexican peso has shown against other currencies in the world, for which he asked those present to continue investing in the country and promised not to change the operating rules.
