In the midst of the debate on how to dismantle drug cartels, the United States ambassador to Mexico acknowledged this Tuesday that the fight against fentanyl and arms trafficking starts from his country.

Through a statement, he pointed out that both issues are a priority for the Joe Biden government and that the administration of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador is a crucial partner.

“Our governments reaffirmed their commitment to work together for our shared security, particularly to join efforts against the illegal trafficking of fentanyl and weapons for the damage they represent to the well-being of our nations,” the document reads.

“We started the fight against the illegal trafficking of fentanyl and weapons at home”
