Seven months. That was how long Patrícia Pillar, 59, waited to receive an answer about the process that moved against a councilor for fake news. The actress used social media to celebrate her victory in court and prove that spreading fake news is a crime. “Here it is done, here it is paid”, she began the post in celebration of the result.
In August last year, councilor Vinicius Aith (PRTB) of Sorocaba, in São Paulo, had stated that Patrícia would have suffered domestic violence when she was married to the former candidate (PDT) for the presidency of the Republic, Ciro Gomes. The alleged accusation took place during the last elections. “Ciro speaking in defense of women. I didn’t forget the beatings on Patrícia Pillar, huh!”, he wrote at the time. Some time later, he deleted the post.
Patricia he immediately denied the news and warned that he would take the case to court. “The internet cannot be a lawless space. Therefore, I always insist on Justice in the face of fake news and defamation against me”, explained the actress who still insisted on giving details about Aith’s compensation.
“He was condemned by Judge Keyla Blank de Cnop, scheduled at the VI Special Civil Court of the TJRJ, to publish the sentence in full on all of his social networks, under penalty of a daily fine of R$2 thousand and compensation for moral damages in the amount of BRL 10 thousand”.
Patricia pillre Ciro Gomes met in 1996, but only started dating a year later and walked down the aisle in 2000. The relationship ended in December 2012.
