The rector of the National University of San Marcos (UNMSM), Jeri Ramonruled out his resignation after the intervention from the National Police to the study center. Likewise, he indicated that those who ask for his dismissal are people who are associated with political power and who “incite” the population.
“Why does San Marcos have to be the center now and why is the rector’s head being requested? because also there is a group of political power behind this. Logical, there is a political group that is stirring up the population, ”he mentioned.
He also hinted that they are the congressmen who would be asking for his resignation. “No, I am not going to make my position available, because I have to take it to a Council and to an assembly”, he affirmed.

The rector also commented that when she found out about the authorities entering the university campus in this way, she requested the intervention of the study center advisers. In addition, she questioned the diligence of the Dircote.
A group of teachers from the UNMSM has requested their vacancy from the representative of the study center after the violent intervention that the National Police entered. This happened after Rector Ramón denounced that some people entered and destroyed the security cameras.
Through a statement, they indicated that the rector’s position from the outset was the “expulsion of those compatriots” who came from different regions of the country. It should be noted that, the previous day, the eviction of all those who do not live on campus was ordered until 12:00 p.m.

“Now he is directly responsible for the brutal aggression against our university campus and the compatriots peacefully present there. Video images already circulating around the world show an inordinately large contingent of assault police entering with tanks,” the document reads.
They also specified that this situation not only ended there, because the students treated them “as criminals forced to lie face down on the ground.” Given this, they repudiated and described the fact as “shameful”.
In this sense, they requested respect for human rights and an end to the violence, but also his resignation or vacancy against the rector.
