Spain winger Ferran Torres said that his relationship with the daughter of coach Luis Enrique is not among the major challenges he faces at the FIFA World Cup finals in Qatar.
“No, not at all,” Torres told a news conference on Sunday when asked if he was feeling pressured by the relationship. I think we both know how to differentiate between the personal and the professional. I think we have to deal with it naturally, and we are on good terms.
Earlier this year, Torres, 22, revealed his relationship with Luis Enrique’s daughter, Serra Martinez, who is also 22 years old.
And Luis Enrique joked about this on Saturday when answering a question about the player he sees himself in on the field.
He said in an online chat: It’s very easy, it’s Mr. Ferran Torres, otherwise my daughter will cut off my head.
Torres expects that facing Costa Rica on Wednesday, at the start of Spain’s World Cup campaign, will be difficult.
The Barcelona player said: When you face a team that closes its lines, the match is always more difficult. It will be very closed and difficult to play.
